Do You understand how wery offending the book is? The movie even more? It really portrays Geiko-san and Maiko-san as prostitutes whom only difference of a street hooker is the gorgerous and pricy attire. Even the small facts that are not simple to miss are wrong in the books. The author even ruined Iwasaki-san's life! Even now she isn't welcome in Gion. Anyhow, the book does not really show the devotation, hard work, beauty and arts those of a Geisha life! It really circles arond sex.
ReplyDeleteEven so a fully Japanese woman could NEVER obtain an eye colour like Sayuri is supposed to have, with all due respect it is genetically impossible.
I would like to think that You who are reading this understand why the book and movie are so offencive and mispresenting. I really have not brought out all of the sins of this novel/movie but it really is a sin altogether!
Regards!
